About Cooperative Education

Cooperative Education (Co-op) is an academic program that allows students to apply classroom theory in practical work settings and gain personal, academic and work skills over multiple semesters. Co-op at UCF is one of the largest co-op programs in the country and assists more students in more disciplines and colleges than any other university in Florida.

Co-op is:

  • Multiple semesters, starting as early as sophmore year
  • Progressively responsible experiences, usually with the same employer
  • Structured for learning
  • Major-related
  • Off-campus
  • Always paid
  • For credit if it will count in a students degree program
