Mission, Goals and Objectives Mission: To enhance academic study and student competency development, promote regional economic vitality, and build ongoing partnerships with employers and community partners locally, nationally, and internationally through curriculum-specific applied learning experiences for UCF students. Goals: 1) To ensure that all students have access to and include experiential learning courses in their academic programs to apply course content and gain relevant academic, personal and professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to become work-ready and civically engaged citizens upon graduation. 2) To provide on-going professional development and support for department faculty to create and instruct quality internship and service-learning courses 3) Build strong partnerships with employers and community partners to produce strong learning environments for students while meeting workforce development needs Objectives:
Experiential Learning faculty instruct co-op and internship courses, support faculty in the creation and development of internship and service-learning courses, provide best practices workshops, facilitate incentive funding approval processes against criteria, promote applied learning to students and maintain statistics on applied learning across campus. All of these options require the development and maintenance of relationships with industrial and community partners. Read Next
